Just wanted to say thank you for being you and really enjoyed our talk yesterday. Scale said 186.2 this am so back down and getting ready to go on long walk on trail with girlfriend. You continually inspire me and I really appreciate all of your support and friendship. You helped me changed my life and lifestyle and just wanted you to know how special of an ability that is!!! .. You are a wonderful health coach…I have faced 1 jewelry party at girlfriend’s house, 1 evening holiday Bunco celebration at another girlfriend’s house, 2 birthday celebration lunches and getting ready to meet girlfriends at Panera for tea this AM. Tomorrow is another lunch birthday celebration at Four Season’s but at least we are doing spa treatment first!! I have sucked more bottles of water or glasses of ice water at these events with healthy small side salad with some protein and my girlfriends are just amazed. I am very proud of myself because I am learning self-control and smart, healthy eating due in a huge part to your expertise and calm wisdom. ~B.L.
“I have always been active and considered myself to be ‘fit’. I have trained for 1/2 marathons and made regular trips to the gym. My workouts seemed to be lacking diversity, sufficient weight training, and the intensity I needed to really feel good. Beginning personal training with Lorraine was the best move for me. I have never felt stronger. I have achieved personal goals that I was not able to push myself to do. Working out with Lorraine holds me accountable and provides me with the knowledge and self confidence to explore weight training during my solo workouts. I am able to take what I have learned from her and incorporate new exercises even at home with minimal equipment. I began working out with Lorraine when I was a freshman in high school. I always wanted to work out, eat better and have a healthier lifestyle, but I was not motivated to gain results. Within the first month, I saw immediate results from the weight training. Lorraine pushed me and motivated me to work out on my own time since I only worked out with her once a week. I received the needed cardio exercise and changed my poor eating habits. By sophomore year, I dropped most of my weight. The pounds dropped within months, I could not believe it, my family and peers could not believe it. I started with Lorraine at 180 lbs and now I’m 145 lbs -and still have it off. I look at before and after photos and cannot believe my eyes. I imagined the results I wanted, but never believed they would happen, but that all changed when I started training with Lorraine. Lorraine helped me achieve my goals and change my life. I now have much more confidence and believe that nothing can stop me from achieving my goals. Almost everyday I get compliments on my body and how much I have changed. I thank Lorraine so much for everything she has done for me and I do not know what I’ll do with out her when I leave for college next year. I’m currently a junior and still work out with Lorraine, she is like a second mother to me and I’m really going to miss her.

If someone had told me a year ago that I would begin to eat a healthy diet and that I would start exercising to lose weight, I would have thought they were crazy. I have never achieved success with any type of weight loss or exercise plan. This was until I met Lorraine Huntley, M.Ed. RD, at Right Balance Nutrition & Fitness Consulting, LLC.
Lorraine was recommended to me by my physician, Dr. David Yablonsky. I questioned whether I should try another weight loss program before I made the call to Lorraine. I have tried most of the programs on the market with no success. I have also tried many forms of exercise, including purchasing different exercise programs and equipment. I have tried various diets and have read several self-help books. I would always start the programs thinking, I am going to succeed this time. But after two or three weeks I would give up and go back to my old habits.
My first meeting with Lorraine was on January 8, 2007. My starting weight was 240.6. I was wearing a size 22-24 and XXL/XXXL. I was taking several medications for high blood pressure. With Lorraine’s recommendation, I decided to try the HMR meal replacement program. A typical day would be a shake for breakfast with fruit, a healthy snack of veggies or fruit, an HMR entree with my veggies for lunch, and a shake and entree with veggies for dinner. I would keep track of my exercise and water intake. I also started walking on my treadmill, a Christmas gift from my husband.
The first two weeks were hard but with Lorraine’s encouragement I did not give up, and to my surprise, for the first time I was losing weight. I stayed with the HMR program for six weeks. I really learned a lot about my eating habits, especially portion control. Exercising was difficult at first but by daily increasing my walking time I was able to achieve success. I stayed on the HMR program for six weeks. I continued meeting with Lorraine and with the help of my husband, I started planning my own meals. I still use the supplement shakes for breakfast. In April I started an exercise program with Lorraine so that I could work on core training.

As of October 2007 I am two pounds away from losing 60 pounds and I am still losing. My goal is to lose 75 pounds and maintain my goal weight with a healthy life style of eating right and exercise. I am now wearing a size 14 and L/XL. My medications have been cut in half. I am healthy for the first time in many years. Most importantly, my life style has changed and I will never go back to the old me. Lorraine helped me believe in myself and find the confidence to achieve my goal. There is no “magic” pill or plan to help a person lose weight. I believe the “magic” is inside all of us. We just have to look inside ourselves and want the success. My weight loss journey was not always easy and I did hit a few “bumps in the road” along the way, but Lorraine was always there to help me. Thank you, Loraine, for helping me find my “magic!”

This is a list of a few things I wanted to achieve if ever I had success with weight loss:
ACHIEVED
- Go up a flight of stairs without gasping for breath.
- Buy a “fashionable” article of clothing.
- Comfortably sit in a booth at a restaurant.
- Shop at Victoria Secret for something other than perfume.
- Not stand behind someone or something for a photograph.
- Find my cheek bones! Yes, they came back!
- Have a problem finding something to wear to work because everything in the closet is too BIG!
- Purchase a pair of high heel shoes
- Have more energy and feel great.
- Have my husband’s arms wrap all the way around me!

I came to Right Balance Fitness in May of 2007 to safely increase my lean muscle mass and body weight, in order to hit the golf ball farther and improve my stamina on the course.
Lorraine at Right Balance created a program for me that helped me achieve my goals safely within several months. I am now starting Phase 2 of my nutrition plan in order to add another 10 pounds of lean mass to my body since I have grown 3 inches in height this year. Lorraine is knowledgeable, flexible and fun to work with, and I recommend her services.

When I started with you in May, I weighed 204 pounds, now I weigh 170 pounds. I am the healthiest I have ever been with my food and exercise. Although I have slacked (not stopped) on exercise for the past couple of weeks, I have maintained my weight through the holidays. Thank goodness the holidays are over, and I can get back to my routine. I am going on a trip to Jamaica next week, but I already made sure that the place we are staying has a gym!
Thank you for everything these past few months. You really inspired me to get my eating and exercise habits where they should be. Thank you Lorraine.

I have been going to Right Balance Nutrition & Fitness Consulting 2 days a week since it opened, and I can truly say I don’t think I have ever done the same workout twice. Lorraine is constantly challenging me and my muscles to get optimum performance.
I love going to the studio and having a one on one training session. There is no waiting in line for a weight machine or distractions by others in a gym setting. Lorraine is totally focused on you and your results.

My internist suggested I lose 10 pounds to avoid blood pressure medication. Although I have always walked for exercise, and began Yoga earlier this year, Lorraine taught me the importance of strength training to meet my goals.
